I felt inspired today to look up some beautiful Greek tea settings.
These are from https://www.greece-is.com/tea-ritual-hotel-grande-bretagne/
This was prompted by the idea to make some phyllo dough and some spanakopita earlier this week.
Why spanakopita works for a tea party:
- Savory Element: Tea parties need savory bites, and spanakopita (spinach and feta phyllo pastries) provides that satisfying, cheesy, herby component.
- Finger Food: Mini spanakopita triangles or pies are easy to eat without utensils, making them ideal for mingling.
- Make-Ahead: They can often be prepared in advance and baked just before serving, or even frozen, easing party prep.
- Visually Appealing: Golden, flaky phyllo pastry is always an attractive addition to a spread.
Serving Suggestions:
- Miniature Size: Opt for small triangles or use muffin tins to make mini pies for easier handling.
- Variety: Offer different fillings like mushroom, caramelized onion, or cheese for variety.
- Pairings: Serve with a yogurt mint sauce or tzatziki for dipping.
- Presentation: Arrange them on a tiered stand or alongside other sweets and savories for a beautiful display.
